The Electricity Governance Initiative (EGI) is a unique network of civil society organizations dedicated to promoting transparent, inclusive and accountable decision-making in the electricity sector. We facilitate collaboration of civil society, policymakers, regulators, and other electricity sector actors using a common framework to define “good governance.”Since 2005, we have worked with civil society organizations around the world to complete assessments of electricity governance in their respective countries, and to advocate for improvements in governance. More than 30 organizations around the world are now partners in the Initiative. The World Resources Institute serves as the global secretariat for EGI, with the Prayas Energy Group (India) serving as our special knowledge partner.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- The candidate should be a graduate from a recognized university.
- Should have excellent writing and editing skills.
- Some knowledge of international development and environmental issues;
- Interest in role of online communications in international networks, policy forums;
- Must possess strong computer skills - (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc);
- Attention to detail, be highly organized, and be able to work both in a team and independently;
- Should have the ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary setting.
- The Intern need to conduct primary and secondary research on energy efficient labels to identify “success indicators” particularly in relation to provision of operational costs of the appliances.
- Assist in additional project research, writing and editing as needed.
- Write communications pieces for EGI and WRI website on project progress.
